All of our accommodation blocks are located on the Mount Oswald site which means that they are a very few minutes’ walk to the College buildings such as the College Office, College Bar, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and The Hub. The accommodation is located approximately 1 mile from Durham city centre and is a short walk to the main campus.

Room Type
Most bedrooms assigned to first year undergraduate students are all single occupancy ensuite bedrooms with ¾ sized beds.
Our accommodation is organised into flats with five to eight bedrooms with a shared kitchen.

College Community
The majority of second, third and fourth year students choose to live in private rented accommodation in Durham City. However we do still very much welcome applications to live in our accommodation from students in their 2nd 3rd and 4th years.

POSTGRADUATE ACCOMMODATION

Room Type
The accommodation John Snow College offers to postgraduate students are in our brand new Town Houses.
In each Townhouse there are 4 floors and 12 bedrooms. Each student will have their own single occupancy bedroom and will share a bathroom with one other student.
The large ground floor area includes a kitchen and dining space, and a comfortable social space. There will be 3x fridge freezers and 12 dining chairs in each kitchen. The large living area will have sofas to accommodate 12 students.
